Hosted Buyer Program

Who can be a hosted buyer?

If you are a Business Events Professional/Meeting Planner with the primary responsibility of planning and contracting business events destinations and services, you may qualify for the Convening Leaders Hosted Buyer Program!

Why be a hosted buyer?

Enjoy the opportunity to connect with potential business partners and demonstrate ROI to your employer while saving your organization money via complimentary Convening Leaders registration and accommodations (if option for hotel is selected).

How do appointments work?

You manage your own schedule and have the ability to request appointments with suppliers/vendors, as well as accept or decline meeting requests that you receive.

We’ve also expanded the available meeting times this year to provide more flexibility in your schedule, allowing you to conduct appointments Sunday through Wednesday during Convening Leaders.

What are the commitments if I am selected to be a hosted buyer?

During the application process, buyers will be able to select from one of two package options.

OPTION 1: Hosted buyers will receive complimentary registration and three night’s hotel accommodations in exchange for a commitment to participate in 15 appointments with PCMA Partners and other industry suppliers and attend a special Hosted Buyer Luncheon on Sunday, January 7.

OPTION 2: Hosted buyers will receive complimentary registration in exchange for a commitment to participate in 10 appointments with PCMA Partners and other industry suppliers.

What is the application process?

The first deadline is Monday, September 25. You will receive an e-mail notification with your application status by Monday, October 9.

Upon acceptance, you will receive a special complimentary code to use for 2018 PCMA Convening Leaders registration and instructions about how to book your complimentary hotel accommodations (if option for hotel is selected).

Hosted Buyer Terms and Conditions

  • Buyer must fill out the application IN FULL and qualify to participate.
  • PCMA places a high value on this program, therefore you will be charged the full planner registration fee ($995 PCMA Member, $1305 Non-Member) if you do not complete the required appointments with PCMA Partners and other industry suppliers as well as attend the Hosted Buyer Luncheon (only applicable with Option 1 package).
  • There will be a $350 penalty fee if you cancel participation after December 8, 2017.
  • If you were a hosted buyer at Convening Leaders or Education Conference in the last two years, you are not eligible to participate.
