Jeremy Rifkin is an American economic and social theorist. Rifkin is the author of 20 international bestselling books translated into more than 35 languages about the impact of scientific and technological changes on the economy, the workforce, society, and the environment. His most recent books include The Zero Marginal Cost Society (2014), The Third Industrial Revolution (2011), and The Empathic Civilization (2010).

Mr. Rifkin has been advising the leadership of the European Union over the past 14 years, and more recently, has been advising the leadership of the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Rifkin is a principal architect of the European Union and China’s long term Third Industrial Revolution economic vision and development plans for ushering in an “Internet of Things Infrastructure” to create the new smart businesses and employment opportunities in a 21st Century post-carbon global economy.

Mr. Rifkin is ranked 123 in the WorldPost/HuffingtonPost 2015 global survey of “The World’s Most Influential Voices”, and is also listed among the top 10 most influential economic thinkers in the survey.
