Dr Shirlena Soh is the President of the newly founded Association of Biomedical Laboratory Professionals, Singapore (ABMLPS); which aims to advance the practice of health and biomedical sciences in the laboratory for the improvement of human health through diagnosis, research and industry development.

Prior to ABMLPS, Dr Soh was the Executive Director of the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS), working closely with the Singapore Government to help shape the future of Singapore’s meetings, incentive, conventions, exhibitions and events (MICE) industry and help chart the industry’s growth path to further the island state’s position as a leading regional and global MICE destination and business events hub in Asia.

Based in Singapore, Dr Soh was the Director of Business Development and Operations for Human Genome Organisation (HUGO) International and was the primarily driver of both the association’s operations as well as the strategic business development of HUGO’s initiatives and business ventures. Dr Soh is currently serving as the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board Member for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and was also an International Advisory Board Member for Business Events Sydney.
