With more than 20 years of experience in event sales, operations, and management with a focus on nonprofit environments, Janelle Doig has a solid foundation in all aspects of hospitality and offers a unique perspective to the industry. She is enthusiastic about customer relationships, collaborative team environments, and creative foresight.

After getting her BA in Economics from the University of Washington, Janelle spent a couple years on Maui within the restaurant/hotel field. It was here that she developed a passion for the hospitality industry and specifically, destination management. After returning to Seattle, she joined Seattle VIP Services (now SHW) and spent the subsequent six years focused on event design and execution, strategic partnerships, and event operations.

Janelle joined the Museum of Pop Culture (then Experience Music Project – EMP), adding event sales to her repertoire. Her wide breadth of knowledge in the events world has resulted in strong venue sales and continued revenue growth funding MoPOP’s nonprofit programming. She has had the opportunity to work with some extraordinary events, including the creation and execution of the Seattle Center Block Party and the Super Bowl Ring Ceremony (Go Seahawks!).

She serves as the chair for the Unique Venue Group and is a member of PCMA, MPI, and AAM, allowing her the opportunity to network and discuss foremost topics for the industry with colleagues in Seattle and across the country. Janelle is a workout enthusiast, forever immersed in home improvements, enjoys travel (especially sunshine) and is a mom to two boys who keep her calendar full. She resides in West Seattle with her family.
