French-born Annabelle Gawer is a pioneer of world-renowned stature in the field of digital platforms. Prof Annabelle Gawer is a Visiting Professor of Strategy and Innovation at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School since September 2020. She is Chaired Professor in Digital Economy, Director of the Centre of Digital Economy (CoDE), and Head of the Department of Digital Economy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Surrey Business School. Prof Gawer is a pioneering expert on digital platforms like Google and Facebook, and on platform-based innovative business ecosystems. The co-author of four books, including Platform Leadership and Platform Markets and Innovation, Annabelle Gawer has written over 30 articles published in top international journals. Her work has also featured in The New York Times, The London Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal. She is an advisor to the European Commission, the UK Parliament House of Lords, and the OECD on issues relating to the future of ICT research direction in Europe and on online platform regulation.
