When and where is Convening Leaders?
Sunday, January 10 – Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at the Miami Beach Convention Center located at 1901 Convention Ctr Dr, Miami Beach, FL.
Who should attend CL27?
Convening Leaders is built for business events organizers/strategists and event marketing professionals at every stage from senior managers and directors to VPs and C-suite executives, and the suppliers, partners, and destinations who serve them. Students and faculty shaping the next generation of the industry are part of the conversation too.
How can I stay updated on event changes or announcements?
Check conveningleaders.org for the most recent updates and announcements. Registered participants also receive regular updates on Convening Leaders programming and networking functions.
Registration & rates
What are the registration rates?
Registration costs vary based on membership status and time of purchase. Please refer to the registration rates posted on www.conveningleaders.org.
When does registration open?
Registration opens soon, with the lowest Super Early rate available through September 17, 2026. Join the interest list above to be notified the moment it goes live.
How do I register?
Use the Registration button on conveningleaders.org. When registering, you will be prompted to use the same Rainfocus credentials you used to register for past PCMA events. If you have not attended a PCMA event in the past few years, you can create a new Rainfocus account. This is not the same login as your PCMA Account, but we do ask that you use the same email address that you use for your PCMA account in order for the platform to identify your Membership status.
Who can I contact if I am having trouble registering?

Are scholarships available or a hosted buyer program?
Yes! Applications are open at pcma.org/scholarships. There are 50 scholarships and 50 hosted buyer spots available for business event organizers/strategists and corporate event marketers, through a partnership with GMCVB, and several scholarship opportunities for students/faculty through the PCMA Foundation. Please note that hosted buyers will be required to participate in a set of appointments on Sunday, January 10. If you apply for one of these programs and are not accepted, you will receive a discount code to register at the super advanced registration rate.
Are group and team rates available?
Yes; group registration options for teams of 10+ are available for registrants in the business event organizer/strategist and/or corporate event marketer category. Please email membership@pcma.org to request a discount.
Will there be a Digital registration for Convening Leaders?
A Digital registration ticket will open in December which includes streaming access to Main Stage sessions and a selection of concurrent sessions.
How do I get the Next Gen rate?
Current Next Gen PCMA members will receive a code for a $200 discount on regular rates. To request a code, email membership@pcma.org .
Programming & education
How can I submit a proposal to be considered as a speaker?
PCMA is looking for subject matter experts, industry thought leaders, and innovative educators to share content, conversations, and education at Convening Leaders 2027. This is your invitation to help shape the learning experience for the people driving our industry forward. The call for proposals is open until September 4. Submit your proposal here.
Is there an Executive Program?
The Executive Leadership Program at Convening Leaders is an exclusive one-day executive education experience designed specifically for senior leaders in the business events industry, offered pre-conference on Saturday, January 9. Curated for executives who lead business units, departments, and high-performing teams, this immersive program focuses on strengthening the strategic leadership skills needed to navigate today’s evolving business landscape and drive organizational success. Modeled after the executive education experience offered by leading business schools, this highly interactive program combines expert instruction, practical frameworks, and peer-to-peer learning in a collaborative cohort environment. The Executive Leadership Program takes place on Saturday, January 9, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, followed by a networking reception from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. ET. The program fee is $499 member / can be selected as an add-on in Convening Leaders registration.
Can I earn continuing education credits (CEUs) at this event?
You can earn approximately 18 clock hours of continuing education (CE) credits for attending PCMA’s Convening Leaders event, which count toward your Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) requirements.

What are the average temperatures in Miami Beach in January
In Miami Beach in January, the average high temperature is 76°F (24°C) and the average low temperature is 63°F (17°C), with an overall mean temperature of about 69°F (21°C).
How do I book my hotel?
In order to book your hotel room for Convening Leaders, you must first register for the event. Within your CL27 Registration Participant Portal , you will see your personalized link to book housing. The final day to book housing within our block is December 1. Please note, Maritz is the only housing provider for PCMA Convening Leaders. Any other solicitation for Convening Leaders is illegitimate. A $300 USD housing incentive has been built into the PCMA Convening Leaders 2027 registration rate for participants who book accommodations within the official event hotel block. Attendees who reserve accommodations outside the official hotel block will forfeit this incentive, and a $300 USD fee will be invoiced or charged on provided credit card following the event.
What are the hotels for the room block and how much are they?
HQ hotels are Loews Miami Beach $439/night++ and Fontainebleau $399/night++. There are more than 15 total hotels in the official Convening Leaders room block at varying prices and distances from Miami Beach Convention Center.
Which hotels offer shuttle service to/from the convention center?
Shuttle service is provided by Greater Miami CVB to/from the following hotels and the Miami Beach Convention Center. The other hotels in the block are walking distance to MBCC.

What transportation options are available to and from the airport?
Miami Beach is served by two airports. Miami International Airport (MIA) is the closer option, roughly a 20–30 minute drive depending on traffic, while Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is about 45–60 minutes away. From either airport, you can book rideshare (Uber, Lyft) or taxi service directly to the Convention Center or your hotel, or rent a car on-site.
Onsite experience
What is the dress code for this year’s event?
Smart casual dress is appropriate for Convening Leaders. This typically includes slacks or khakis, a dress shirt or blouse, an open-collar or polo shirt, an optional tie or seasonal sport coat, a dress or skirt, a tailored blazer, a knit shirt or sweater, and loafers or dress shoes that cover all or most of the foot. Remember, meeting rooms can get chilly, so we always recommend easy layers for your comfort. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes!
Is the event accessible?

Where can I find the participant list?
The participant list will be available to registrants in the Convening Leaders Participant Portal beginning October 2026.
What resources are available for first-time attendees?
First-time attendees have access to a pre-event webinar, a First Timers’ Reception on Sunday, January 10 (prior to the Opening Celebration), and daily First Timers’ meetups throughout the conference. Be sure to select “first time attending Convening Leaders” when you register so we can send you information on how to make the most of your experience.
Are meals included with my registration?
Yes! Your registration includes several meals and food experiences throughout Convening Leaders. Complimentary continental breakfast is provided Monday–Wednesday, and lunch is provided Monday–Tuesday. The Sunday Opening Reception and Tuesday Networking Reception also include substantial hors d’oeuvres and food stations.
Policies & payment
Can I pay by Invoice?
Yes. You may purchase tickets via our invoice process. However, please note that the deadline for requesting an invoice is Monday, November 30th at 5PM CT. To ensure payment is received prior to the event. Please contact events@conveningleaders.org.
What's the cancellation policy?
CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellation of registration must be submitted in writing via email and must be dated on or before 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Friday, December 11, 2026 to receive a refund less a $150 USD registration cancellation processing fee. After Friday, December 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Central (Chicago) Time, no refunds will be granted. Cancellation of Student and Faculty registrations are subject to a $50 cancellation processing fee each.
There are no refunds for PCMA Foundation contributions, or ancillary event tickets.
Cancellation for Convening Leaders does not cancel membership dues paid during the registration process.
SUBSTITUTION POLICY Replacement of a registered PCMA attendee by a business colleague/co-worker will be accepted. A $50 USD processing fee will apply to all substitutions if notified in writing by 5:00 p.m. Central Time (Chicago) Wednesday, December 30, 2026. After this deadline, no substitutions will be allowed and all substitution requests will be treated as full cancellations of the original registrant and subject to the cancellation policy.
If the substitution request is made before 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, December 30, 2026, the original registrant’s registration will be transferred to the new registrant who must complete registration. Housing reservations must be updated separately. The new registrant must be named in the written notification. The new registrant must register in the same registration category as the original registrant. If the original registrant was registered as a PCMA member, the new registrant must also be a member or join membership upon registering. Substitution requests outside the original registration category will be reviewed individually and may be subject to additional charges.
