An accomplished association management and meetings professional, Lisa Astorga has spent much of her 20+ year career working with association and event management companies and was responsible for all aspects of event conceptualization and execution. In her current role, Lisa is responsible for further professionalizing and standardizing ISTH’s congresses, overseeing the establishment of a long term meetings strategy, implementing new systems and processes and increasing the overall attendee experience and impact of the Society’s meetings. ISTH currently organizes annual meetings attracting between 1,500 and close to 10,000 attendees around the world, as well as a number of smaller educational courses. She is also a frequent participant and contributor to the international meetings industry, currently serving on the Board of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), prior Chair of the Global Task Force; a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of PCMA (GPPCMA); and a member and advisor to many Customer Advisory Boards.
